劇情簡介：
" 《鋼鐵人》系列第三集，根據漫威漫畫中最著名的超級英雄之一鋼鐵人的故事改編。由《吻兩下打兩槍》沙恩布萊克執導，小勞勃道尼與葛妮絲派特洛、唐其鐸等原班人馬再續演出，此次加入奧斯卡影帝班金斯利飾演的滿大人，堪稱是繼《黑暗騎士》小丑之後最聰明的反派角色。
在鋼鐵人與眾將士英雄們從外星人手上拯救世界後，難道地球就和平了嗎？然而一股邪惡勢力仍蠢蠢欲動……此次鋼鐵人東尼史塔克，將再次大展身手解除危機，但他卻遭到能力毫無極限的中國巫師「滿大人」 (班金斯利飾)摧毀了他的生活，並對著心愛的女友小辣椒(葛妮絲派特洛飾)說出難以入眠的心事：「我無法入眠，就算睡著了也會做惡夢。」史塔克只能強忍悲痛，靠著精密的高科技裝備尋找幕後主謀，踏上考驗勇氣的冒險艱辛之旅。
當史塔克最終找到強敵，並憑藉睿智予以反擊之際，他卻發現了一個巨大的問題：隨著戰火的升高，到底是身上的鋼鐵戰衣造就了他，還是他成就了這套鋼鐵戰衣？
【鋼鐵人】首次出現於漫威漫畫1963年出版的【懸疑傳說】第39期，隨後從1968年5月的【無敵鋼鐵人】第1期之後，即擁有獨立漫畫系列。在該系列漫畫作品被改編成為電影作品之後，此次《鋼鐵人3》為第一部由中美兩國聯手合拍的超級英雄電影，將分成美國版本、國際版本以及中國版本，範冰冰與王學圻只會在中國版本出現，中國版本會有較多北京拍攝的場景。"
